Specialty Areas: I work with adolescents and adults and providing both individual and relationship counseling. I treat anxiety, depression, relationship issues, addictions, stress concerns, adjustment issues, and transitions. I have thirty years of experience in working with eating disorders. Currently I conduct weight management and pre-bariatric awareness groups. I also offer evaluations for individuals who are considering bariatric surgery.
Treatment Philosophy: I view counseling as a collaborative process in which therapist and client work together to actively deal with the presenting issues. I utilize a variety of concepts depending upon the needs of my clients. My training includes both cognitive-behavioral approaches and family of origin therapy. I may suggest readings, certain ways to approach situations, or specific ideas for change. Finding the treatment which is the best fit for the client is a key to my approach.
